Create A New Web Wallet Account

Create a new Web Wallet account with custom name
  1. Go to the Web Wallet page.
  2. Click Create New Wallet.
  3. Enter your favoured name into the form, after the pre-determined 'dw-' prefix.
    1. The name, including the prefix, must be at least 5 characters in length. The Confirm button will not activate until this rule is met.
    2. If an invalid, or existing name is chosen, a red warning message will be displayed under the text field. Change the name and try again.
  4. Click the green Confirm button.
  5. Write down your Brain Key. You will need this to continue creating the wallet, and to regenerate your keys should you lose them at any time.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. You will be challenged to supply two of the words in the brain key. If these are not answered correctly, you will be returned to step 5 to try again.
  8. Successfully answering this challenge will complete the wallet creation and its details will be displayed on screen, (subject to being clicked to show in the case of the private key), alongside options to print a paper wallet, and export a wallet file.

Create a new Web Wallet account with automatically generated name
  1. Go to the Web Wallet page.
  2. Click Create New Wallet.
  3. Click the Generate Automatically button.
  4. The generated name should be valid and can be edited as per the rules for custom named accounts (Five character, including the 'dw-' prefix).
  5. Click the green Confirm button.
  6. Write down your Brain Key. You will need this to continue creating the wallet, and to regenerate your keys should you lose them at any time.
  7. Click Continue.
  8. You will be challenged to supply two of the words in the brain key. If these are not answered correctly, you will be returned to step 5 to try again.
  9. Successfully answering this challenge will complete the wallet creation and its details will be displayed on screen, (subject to being clicked to show), alongside options to print a paper wallet, and export a wallet file.

Logging In and Logging Out

Log in using an encrypted wallet file.
  1. Go to the Web Wallet page.
  2. Click the blue Log in button.
  3. Select Wallet File (JSON) via the radio button.
  4. Click the green Upload button to activate the browser's file manager dialogue and select the appropriate Wallet File. (Consult the browser's documentation if required).
  5. Enter the wallet file's password into the appropriate field.
  6. Agree to the Terms of Use by clicking the checkbox.
  7. Click the Next button to log in.
  8. You can abort at any point by clicking the X icon to return to the landing page.

Log in using an account name and private key.
  1. Go to the Web Wallet page.
  2. Click the blue Log in button.
  3. Select Account name + Private key via the radio button.
  4. Enter the Account Name and Private Key into the appropriate fields.
  5. Agree to the Terms of Use by clicking the checkbox.
  6. Click the Next button to log in.
  7. You can abort at any point by clicking the X icon to return to the landing page.

Log in using an account name and brain key.

  3. Select Account name + Private key via the radio button.
  4. Enter the Account Name and Brain Key into the appropriate fields.
  5. Agree to the Terms of Use by clicking the checkbox.
  6. Click the Next button to log in.
  7. You can abort at any point by clicking the X icon to return to the landing page.

Logging out.
  1. Click the Menu Icon in the top right hand corner of the screen.
  2. Select the Logout option from the drop down menu.
  3. Abort without logging out at any time by clicking the Cancel button, or the X icon.
  4. Confirm your intent to Logout by clicking the Logout button.

Key and Wallet Management

Regenerating account keys.

This can only be done from a Logged out state.

  1. Go to the Web Wallet page. Log Out if necessary.
  2. Select the Regenerate account keys link (located below the green and blue buttons).
  3. Enter the Account Name and Brain Key into the appropriate fields and click Regenerate keys to regenerate the keys.
  4. You can abort at any point by clicking the X icon to return to the landing page.
  5. When regenerated, your keys will be displayed, on screen, (subject to being clicked to show), alongside options to print a paper wallet, and export a wallet file.

Exporting a wallet file.

There are two ways the Wallet File can be created:

When creating a new account

  1. Follow the instructions for creating a new account until you reach the final screen.
  2. Click the green Export Wallet File button.
  3. The Export Wallet File form will be displayed.
  4. Enter the password you wish to encrypt the keys in the file with in both fields. Ensure they are identical.
  5. If passwords do not match, re-enter them.
  6. When the passwords match, the Export button will turn blue and become active. Click it.
  7. The browser will open a dialogue allowing you to name and save the wallet file.
  8. A form will be displayed confirming a successful export.

When viewing Account Info

  1. From the Main Dashboard when Logged In, click the Menu Icon in the top right hand corner of the screen and select Account Info.
  2. Click the green Export Wallet File button.
  3. The Export Wallet File form will be displayed.
  4. Enter the password you wish to encrypt the keys in the file with in both fields. Ensure they are identical.
  5. If passwords do not match, re-enter them.
  6. When the passwords match, the Export button will turn blue and become active. Click it.
  7. The browser will open a dialogue allowing you to name and save the wallet file.
  8. A form will be displayed confirming a successful export.

Printing the paper wallet.

There are two ways the Paper Wallet can be printed:

When creating a new account

  1. Follow the instructions for creating a new account until you reach the final screen.
  2. Select the option Print your paper wallet.
  3. A popup displaying a representation of you paper wallet will appear on screen.
  4. Select the green Print button to print the wallet; select Cancel or X to abort.

When regenerating keys

  1. Follow the instructions for regenerating keys until you reach the final screen.
  2. Select the option Print your paper wallet.
  3. A popup displaying a representation of you paper wallet will appear on screen.
  4. Select the green Print button to print the wallet; select Cancel or X to abort.

NOTE that you may need to refer to your printer and browser documentation in order to complete this operation.

Making and Receiving Payments

Make a payment.
  1. Go to the Web Wallet page.
  2. Log in with your preferred method.
  3. Review your balance to ensure you have enough DCT to make the payment. Don't forget to include the 0.005 DCT transaction fee.
  4. Enter the recipient's account name, the amount and a description for the transaction into the appropriate fields.
  5. If at any time you wish to abort the transaction, either click the Back button, or the X icon in the top right hand corner of the form.
  6. Click the green Send button to make the transaction.
  7. Once the transaction has completed, a form will be displayed showing its status.
  8. Click OK or X to dispel the form
  9. Check the transaction details on the Transaction History area of the Web Wallet Main Dashboard by clicking on the line displaying the transaction to display a form showing the transaction's information in detail.
  10. Dispel this form using OK or X.

Receive or request a payment.
  1. Log into the Web Wallet using the account you wish to receive funds.
  2. From the Main Dashboard select the green Receive button.
  3. A form will be displayed with a QR code on top with your account name below it.
  4. Enter the amount of assets you wish to receive and select currency type from the drop down (defaults to 'DCT')
  5. Optionally add a memo to describe the transaction.
  6. You might notice that, while updating these fields, the QR Code will also update to accommodate the changes.
  7. The QR code contains a URL to the Web Wallet with all the payment details included. The person paying need only open this URL, authenticate their wallet, and they will be presented with a pre-populated Send form that they need only authorise to make the transfer.
  8. The QR code can be read from screen, printed (via the printer icon), or emailed to the person from whom payment is requested.
  9. Click the green OK button or the X icon to dispel the form.
