Official Windows Binary Installation

Basic Installation Instructions

  1. Download the current official binary file for 64 bit Windows 7, 8 & 101
  2. After finding it in your 'Downloads' folder, double-click the installation file to execute it.
  3. Follow and confirm installation steps by clicking Next.
  4. Click on I accept the terms in the License Agreement to continue. You can leave the default installation path or change to your preference.
  5. Click Install.
  6. Finally, when prompted to do so, click Finish to complete installation.

  • Once the installation is completed, open the application. The installed application will start to synchronize with the current state of the blockchain. Please allow an additional time to update.
  • After the synchronization is completed, you will be asked to choose a password to protect your wallet.
  • Import your Username and Private Key. This is the final state to make the application fully operable. Your username and private key are generated from your account in Decent Web Wallet.

Configuring as a Windows Service

It is is possible to install a DCore node as a Windows Service.

Registering DCore Node as a Windows Service

  1. Open the command prompt and navigate to the DCore installation folder (C:\Program Files\DECENT).
  2. Execute the following command:
    decentd --install-win-service
    

The DCore Node, decentd, should now be installed as a Windows Service and should be visible if you view installed services via the Windows Task Manager.

Un-registering a DCore Node Windows Service

  1. Open the command prompt and navigate to the DCore installation folder (C:\Program Files\DECENT).
  2. Execute the following command:
    decentd --remove-win-service
    

The DCore Node, decentd, should now be no longer installed as a Windows Service and should not be visible if you view installed services via the Windows Task Manager.

Starting and Stopping the DCore Node Service

Starting, stopping and conducting other management tasks on the installed DCore Node service can be done in the usual manner using Control Panel. Consult the Windows documentation for more information on doing so.

DCore Node Data Directory

By default, DCore Nodes use the folder, C:\ProgramData\decentd for data storage.
